Dissertation Defenses

Alaina Reagan successfully defended her thesis in March 2018. Alaina is a student in the Oklahoma Center for Neuroscience and her mentor is Dr. Michael Elliott. Congratulations Dr. Reagan!

Joseph Wilkerson successfully defended his thesis in January 2018. Joe is a student in the Department of Cell Biology and his mentors are Dr. Nawajes Mandal and Dr. Gene Anderson. Congratulations Joe!

OU Vision Workshop Awards

Alaina Reagan -- Alaina's image of immunostaining in retinal branching arterioles and venules following ischemic insult in the Cav-1 KO mouse was included on the cover of  the workshop abstract book (Mentor: Dr. Michael Elliott).

Dr. Derek Royer won the Robert E. Anderson Research Award for best presentation, which includes a $1000 travel award. Dr. Royer is a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Ophthalmology and his mentor is Dr. Dan Carr.

 

OUHSC Awards

Ruby Sharif won Graduate Student Paper of the Year. Ruby is in the Department of Cell Biology and her mentor is Dr. Dimitrios Karamichos.

Dr. Blake Hopiavouri won Postdoc Paper of the Year. Dr. Hopiavouri is in the Department of Ophthalmology and his mentor is Dr. Gene Anderson.

 

Graduate Research Education And Technology Symposium

Huzzatul Mursalin was the Flash Talk Session 1 Judged Winner at GREAT 2018. Mursalin is in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and his mentor is Dr. Michelle Callegan

Ruby Sharif was the Flash Talk Session 4 Judged and People's Choice Award Winner at GREAT 2018. Ruby is in the Department of Cell Biology and her mentor is Dr. Dimitrios Karamichos.

 

National and International Research Meeting Awards

Huzzatul Mursalin won a Travel Award for his abstract to the American Society for Microbiology meeting in Atlanta in June 2018. Mursalin is in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and his mentor is Dr. Michelle Callegan.
